Everyone is leaving France next week. Or the week after.
It gets a little depressing to know that this exchange is coming to an end. I cannot believe that half a year just went by so quickly. Suddenly, I feel like I’m not ready to go back to Singapore, and I wish I can turn back the hands of time and have 5 more months in France.
Nevertheless, I am definitely glad that I had clicked ‘yes’ to going on this exchange. I believe that everything happens for a reason. This exchange had its purpose too, and that it was for me to realise how beautiful this world is. I have met some of the most amazing people who have changed me completely. I have learned a lot more about life too, and that it is important to treasure every single minute of it. I managed to do what I had set out to do on this exchange. I found myself again. I found the courage to stand up and the heart has healed. I found my independence and the strength to step up to any challenges in the future.
Right now, everyone is studying hard for the examinations next week. No one is thinking about their flight back home. I’m not sure of how I will react when the day comes for goodbyes. I’m not even sure of when we would ever meet again.
But I know one thing is for sure – that everyone on this exchange will stay in my heart forever.

Then you come back to Singapore where everyone is so “low-class”, so ungraceful and conservative with the old traditional mindset, you will revert back to yourself again. Welcome back to our local culture! Don’t get culture shock. Hahaha!
Good luck for your exams! Don’t kick their arses too hard!
I don’t think I will revert back to my old self. Things have changed, but definitely still a Singaporean. Singapore isn’t “low class”..i love Singapore, but people there could really use a different perspective, or they should learn to see things differently aka be more understanding. Thanks. Am studying in the library now! But yes, everyone is really smart here. I don’t think I’ll be kicking asses.
Relax la! First time i hear people go exchange study one sia..
I love this photo. You are incredibly talented with the camera! Lauren (Lady J’s friend)
